Wight Waves Holidays

Two relaxing Isle of Wight rental homes

Safety

This page explains the procedures and measures we at Wight Waves Holidays will be taking to protect you and all of our chalets’ other guests during 2021. (This document was written 1st July 2020. The information herein is to be reviewed weekly.)

Accommodation will be cleaned and disinfected in accordance with government guidelines & our risk assessment prior to guests’ arrival.

A cleaning checklist will be completed for each clean and will be signed and dated by our housekeeper.

Our Chalets are fogged after every clean with an anti- viral product.

All touchpoints such as door handles, light switches etc will be cleaned individually using EN 14476/EN1276 antiviral cleaner.

Standard Cleaning: Our cleaning will be to the usual high standard, with the addition of hard surfaces being cleaned with an industry standard anti-viral disinfectant. We will also leave an anti-virus spray at the property for your use should you wish to clean any surfaces yourself upon arrival or during your stay. This is in addition to the basic cleaning materials we always provide as standard.

The Guest Information Folder has been removed from the property and this will now be available to guests electronically by email or via our website prior to arrival date. If you do not have access to email, I will send this by post.

Tourist information leaflets, books, games, children’s toys and colouring: We recognise that it will be impossible to clean every page of every book, game of toy, and crayon etc so we have removed these from our chalets & have placed the books & games etc in an outside storage box.  You have access to that box but any item used is at your own risk as they are not included in our cleaning & must be put back in the box after use. We suggest you use the sanitiser provided under the sink to clean anything you use before & after use.

TV: The TV and Remote Control will be cleaned with anti-viral cleaner between every departure and arrival & placed in a disposable sealed bag after being disinfected.

Soft Furnishings: All scientific evidence thus far is that Covid-19 cannot live on fabric for more than a few hours. Therefore, we have decided we will leave all soft furnishings in situ and will spray with disinfectant spray. This is EN1276 and EN 14476 approved and eliminates 99.999% of bacteria and viruses. These will be sprayed with enough time to allow fabrics to dry before new guests arrive.

Bedding/Towels: Our duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases, protectors, and Towels, bath mat & tea towels will be laundered after every guest’s departure. We have 2 sets of everything. This means that the sets for your stay will have been washed a minimum of 3 days prior to your arrival and the only people who will have touched it will be the laundry company, and then our housekeeper on changeover. Whilst Covid-19 is still a risk in the UK, washing will be laundered at 60 degrees.

As bedding & is really personal to you, here are your options:

  • Have us make up the beds for you prior to your arrival.
  • You can choose to have the box of laundry and linen left for you to make up your beds yourselves. We need to be informed a week in advance.

Further notes on bedding:

We ask our guests to leave bedding on their beds and our  housekeeper will strip them. We ask guests not shake down bedding prior to leaving as this could make any virus airborne and could potentially put our housekeeper at risk).

There will be fresh mattress protectors on all the beds and these must remain on the beds, regardless of any bedding you bring yourselves. You’re welcome to put your own protectors over the top of ours if you prefer.

Throws/blankets: We do not want to remove these from your accommodation in case you ever feel you would like an extra layer on your bed. Therefore, we are packaging each freshly laundered throw/blanket into a sealed bag , per bed, which you will find in the special storage compartment underneath the sofa bed (chaise end). Please only unseal and remove one from its bag if you want to use it, and then leave it out so that it can be laundered after your stay at the same time as the bed linen.

Crockery and Cutlery: These will be washed in hot soapy water before your arrival and replaced in the cupboards and drawers. To be entirely sure, we recommend that you rewash items before use.

Check-In and Check-Out: Check out is 10am

Check-in time will also be a little later at 17.00 and it will be contactless. The key will be left in the disinfected key-safe. The key-safe code will be sent by email to our guests 7 – 10 days prior to arrival date. WiFi code will be sent in the same email.
